A is for Alpine

alpine

A is for Alpine is the North American debut album by the Australian band, Alpine. The album was chosen by iTunes as the Australian Alternative Album Of The Year and the group has already toured with Kimbra and Sia and they played at SXSW earlier this year as well.

The six member band features the lush vocals of Lou James and Phoebe Baker singing over catchy, slick guitar riffs making for a dreamy musical escape. Standout tracks include “Gasoline,” “Hands,” “Villages,” and “All For One.”

Check out their video for Gasoline…

Becky Stark of Lavender Diamond

A fan of Harriet Wheeler and the Sundays recently turned me onto Lavender Diamond. Check out their single “I Don’t Recall” from the album Incorruptible Heart. It’s amazing how much lead singer Becky Stark sounds like Harriet. And that’s said with nothing but the utmost respect for both!

After you get over your amazement, check out the entire album. It’s definitely worth a listen!

You can hear “I Don’t Recall” and other songs from Lavender Diamond on Sirens of Song Radio.
